Step inside Duchess Manor for a special Lights On, No Actors Tour created just for kids! Every Sunday through November 5, families can explore the haunted house in a fun, friendly way without the scares. Kids will love checking out the spooky sets, glowing lights and cool details in a not so scary environment. It’s All Fun – No Scares – Just for Kids! A “Hardly Haunted House” experience you won’t want to miss. The fog clings thick to the ground like a veil, muffling sound and twisting shadows into eerie silhouettes across The Arboretum of South Barrington. Once a bustling outdoor lifestyle center, the Arboretum now feels hollow, haunted by an unseen presence that whispers through the trees and rattles the locked doors after dark. Ever since the staff unearthed that ornate, iron key buried beneath the floorboards of the old storefront, strange occurrences have plagued The Arb, lights flickering without power and a low, sorrowful wail echoing at midnight. But the true horror lies beyond that hidden door they opened, revealing a narrow passage descending into the forgotten Duchess’ Manor. Duchess had always been a mystery and rarely seen outside her home. Unbeknownst to anyone, she had secretly constructed a sprawling estate within the shopping center during its early development. Over time, isolation took its toll. Duchess slowly unraveled, descending into madness. She began hearing voices in the walls, accusing glances from mirrors, and scratching sounds beneath the floorboards. She then barricaded herself inside and began to rot in darkness alive, but not sane. Now, the air inside the manor is thick with the remnants of that madness. Shoppers near the vacant storefront report hearing frantic whispers and laughter coming from inside. Duchess may be long dead, but her madness lingers like a stain, infecting all who enter. As you wind through their crumbling halls, you’ll witness scenes of their final days, frantic scrawlings on the walls, rooms left mid-meal, shattered mirrors reflecting something that isn’t there. Duchess lost her mind…and now, she wants yours. Welcome to Duchess Manor. It covers a 72 square mile area, making it one of the largest library districts in Illinois, geographically speaking.

Sip &amp; Shop at The Arb“Shop with a Twist” Want to sip a refreshing alcoholic beverage while you shop? Enjoy refreshments while shopping at The Arboretum of South Barrington! From craft beer and wine to cocktails and mocktails. General rules are as follows:Your beverage must be purchased only from Tangled Roots Craft Brew &amp; Kitchen,&nbsp;The Hampton Social, Sim Racing, or Star Cinema Grill.&nbsp; Simply visit one of these establishments and ask for a Sip &amp; Shop beverage. Your beverage will be served in a special Sip &amp; Shop cup with lid.&nbsp;Then enjoy it while browsing The Arboretum of South Barrington! Some restrictions apply:<ol><li class="ql-indent-1">No outside alcohol is permitted.
